Hmm... I'm thinking she completed an art residency abroad where she made some textile arts. She had gotten burned out on fashion design but rediscovered her love of making things. She'd have some new pieces that are fun to touch, or make interesting sounds or air currents. "Boss, can you feel different colors?"
